Since becoming City Section 132-pound wrestling champion as a junior at Palisades High in February, Aaron Galef hasn’t rested on his laurels.
Last week, Galef took fourth place at a national tournament in Las Vegas called the Freakshow, where the senior competed against the best talent in the nation in the Elite 18-and-under division.
Wrestling for a national club team, Sons of Thunder, until the seasons starts, he posted a 7-2 record, losing to Division 1 commits to Stanford and Arizona State.
In the City final, Galef scored a lopsided majority decision overSan Fernando’s Evan Azurdia to qualify for the CIF state meet.
