Longtime Pacific Palisades resident, Fred Haldeman, 57, passed away Feb. 3 with his family by his side in Santa Monica.
Fred was born Feb. 15, 1956, in Santa Monica to Robert and Ruth Haldeman. He lived with his family in Malibu until November 2000 when he moved to the Palisades.
Fred attended the Exceptional Children’s School in Pacific Palisades, graduating in 1974. After his graduation, Fred began working as an assistant custodian at Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church, where he worked until October of 2012.
Fred was a dear angel, who was incapable of thinking anything bad about anyone. He was a gentle spirit who was filled with light and love. Although age 57 is considered elderly in Down Syndrome terms, it is way too soon to have lost someone we loved so much.
Fred is survived by his mother, Ruth Haldeman; his sister, Sue Haldeman Verrett; and his brother Bill Haldeman.
A memorial service for Fred will be held Saturday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church, 15821 Sunset Blvd., Pacific Palisades, CA 90272. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred’s name to Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church.
