Veteran Los Angeles Rams kicker Kai Forbath is still on the injured reserved list. Forbath signed with the Rams on October 20, but hurt his ankle in the second half of LA’s 23-16 victory over Seattle on Nov. 15. He made his debut with the team Nov. 1 at Miami and has made two of three field goals and four of five extra points in the two games he has played.
Matt Gay missed a 37-yard field goal in the Rams’ 38-28 win at Arizona on Sunday, but has made five-of-seven field goal tries and 10-of-10 extra points since he took over the kicking role in Week 11.
On Sept. 19 Forbath signed with Carolina but didn’t see game action before being cut Sept. 28. He began the 2020 season as a free agent after being released by Dallas on August 1. He tried out with Cleveland on Aug. 19 and 11 days later he tried out with Arizona. The Rams signed him off Chicago’s practice squad. Forbath, 33, has played in 83 games over eight NFL seasons. He grew up in the Highlands and starred at UCLA.
