The winner of Honorary Mayor Jake Steinfeld’s Pacific Palisades flag contest will be announced in next week’s issue (March 20) of the Palisadian-Post. The winning flag will be raised at a special ceremony on April 13. Additionally, the winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize and an additional $1,000 for their favorite Palisades charity.
“It was really exciting to see how the community rallied around something as simple and fun, but really kind of important. It was something we did in fun. My goal obviously as the honorary mayor is community and connecting the community,” Steinfeld said.
Look for more information about the flag-raising ceremony as well as interviews with the winner and finalists in next week’s Post. The three finalists are: duo Sean Lim and Will Dintenfass, Chris Alexakis and Rick Lynch.
The flag-judging committee members who helped Mayor Jake select a winner were Post staff photographer Rich Schmitt, former Post Editor-in-Chief Bill Bruns, Mayor Jake’s ‘Minister of Media’ Rich Cronin, Chamber of Commerce president Joyce Brunelle and the YMCA’s Carol Pfannkuche.
