I am writing to clear up any confusion that might have been caused by the article “Tennis Club Closes as Members Age Out” in the April 19 edition.
The article mentions that the Palisades Tennis Club closed, and I want to distinguish the Palisades Tennis Center as a separate organization that remains open and continues to thrive.
We are preparing a whole new generation for the lifelong sport of tennis, and we are growing and evolving with them
The center recently hired a new Junior Program Director Bryan Fox.
Fox, an accomplished player and coach, has an extensive background in youth tennis. He already has the neighborhood kids smashing serves and crushing forehands.
For 2018 Summer Tennis Camp we are excited to be partnering with local business K Bakery. The great folks at K Bakery will be providing nutritious lunches for our hungry tennis campers.
Tennis in the Palisades historically has been a sport that binds the community.
Generations of kids have grown up playing tennis at the park. Tennis is a great outlet that keeps kids active and healthy (and out of trouble).
For decades, the Palisades Tennis Center has been accommodating players of all levels and all ages. Our phenomenal group of coaches and staff look forward to continuing to do so for many years to come.
Mike Tomas
Owner, Palisades Tennis Center
(Editor’s note: The article in question said that the Palisades Tennis Center was flourishing and tennis remains one of the most pleasurable ways of getting to know people in the town. And long may it flourish.)
