Evelyn Minium, a 60-year resident of Pacific Palisades, has passed.
Born on December 20, 1933, in Los Angeles, Evelyn attended Marshall High School. On October 14, she died just two months short of her 89th birthday.
Evelyn and Rodney Minium met in high school and married on July 17, 1954, moving to the Palisades in 1962 with their three sons, Chuck, Dick and Bill.
The boys kept her busy as a den mother for the cub scouts and as one of the founders of the Pop Warner concession stands at Palisades High School.
Summers were spent on Balboa Island at her in-laws’ home and winter vacations at the family condo in Mammoth Lakes.
In 1979, her life changed when her youngest son Bill was involved in a serious car accident that left him a paraplegic with serious brain trauma. Evelyn became his full-time caregiver for the next 28 years.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Rodney (1996), son Bill (2007) and grandson Jason (2005). She is survived by her sons Chuck (Carolyn) and Dick (Jan), grandsons Ryan, Dustin and Logan, and great-grandson Christian.
The family would like to thank her caregiver Marla Flores, and close friends Bob and Jo Ann Klein for their time and devotion.
She died peacefully at home with Chuck and Dick at her side.
Plans for a gathering are being considered for a later date.
