Have you ever heard of the famous sports snack, the Cracker Jack? Well I’m here to tell you about Cracker Jill. I would guess that Cracker Jill is Cracker Jack’s little sister, but I could not find any official announcement about Jill and Jack actually being part of the same family tree. Maybe Jack and Jill are actually just friends. Either way, Jill is here now too and it looks like she may be here to stay.
Only 5,000 of the Cracker Jill bags were made. If you want one, all you have to do is make a donation to the Women’s Sports Foundation and they’ll send you a bag. One snack-size bag is five dollars, and the brand is donating all of the money to help women and girls reach their potential in sports and life.
Cracker Jill even has her own song. Former Fifth Harmony member Normani created a new version of the famous stadium anthem played during seventh inning stretches in ballparks across the United States. She ends the song not with the standard line, “at the old ball game,” but with a more hopeful message about female empowerment: “It’s a new ball game.”
It is very important to support female athletes because women deserve equal attention. Women and girls are excellent at sports. Girls that play sports and work as a team develop higher self-esteem and confidence. These athletes become our role models and teach girls all around the world that you can do anything you dream.
This sweet, salty and crunchy snack is not just delicious anymore … it also represents that women and girls in sports can change lives.
