The starting lineup consisted of eighth-graders Kelly Capuano (outside hitter), Cate Rozelle (outside hitter) and Abbey Kearney (middle blocker) and seventh-graders Anastasia Lima (libero), Mary McGeagh (setter) and Bella Hooper (opposite hitter). Contributing off the bench were eighth-graders Amanda Saltz and Allie Mallouk and seventh-graders Sophie Sewell, Ryann Mackston, Chloe Beardmore, Kya Shepard, Charley Caland and Keely McMahon.
In the first round the Wildcats swept St. Jane Frances of North Hollywood, 25-12, 25-14. In the next round Corpus Christi played its best match of the season, upsetting St. Lawrence Martyrs of Redondo Beach, 25-12, 25-14. In the third round they swept St. Anastasia’s of Westchester, 25-9, 25-14, setting up the quarterfinal matchup against Assumption School.
“The team peaked at just the right time, and all of the girls stayed focused and supportive of one another,” Corpus Christi Coach Lindsay Frasor said. “I can’t wait to see how these girls play next year. It was all very exciting.”
