To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, the Bel-Air Country Club will present “An Evening of Appreciation” on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 5:30 p.m.
The idea for the event originated at American Legion Post #283 on La Cruz Drive. It will include a formal reception and dinner program, where Medal of Honor recipients Colonel Jack Jacobs and James C. McCloughan will participate as special guests, along with former POW Arthur Neil Black.
Actor Joe Mantegna, who comes from a military family and has supported veterans’ issues for many years, in addition to playing one on “Criminal Minds,” is hosting.
Veteran and Post #283 member Ted Howells clarified that the event is open to everyone.
“We’ll have a video presentation and DJ—it’s the whole nine yards,” he told the Palisadian-Post over the phone.
Tickets are $100 per person, which includes a steak dinner and open bar. Visit alpost283.com, email 50VNDinner@gmail.com or call 310-454-0527.
