Longtime Palisadian John E. Danley celebrated his 100th birthday on May 24 with a luau party at Duke’s. Thirty-three family members and friends attended the festivities, including John’s sister Winifred E. Buller, godson James W. Osterholt and his three children Jay, Debbie and Greg (PaliHi grads from ’63, ’65 and ’69).
The party featured colorized vintage photographs, Hawaiian leis, orchid centerpieces, a detailed Memory Book, a newsletter containing aspects of life in 1914 and a copy of the front page of the Los Angeles Times from John’s birthday, May 24, 1914.
On May 25, the Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church honored John with his birthday party following morning services. John enjoyed the delighted good wishes of his spiritual brethren and the grand culmination of a glorious two-day celebration.
