One would be hard pressed to find as well-rounded an athlete as Cameron Rawlings.
The 8th-grader at Marlborough School won last Wednesday’s 7th- and 8th-grade Delphic League Cross Country Finals at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, completing the 1.9-mile switchback course in a school-record 12 minutes, 20 seconds.
Rawlings was second at league finals last season and broke the school record by approximately 10 seconds. A Santa Monica Canyon resident, she attended St. Matthew’s for eight years prior to Marlborough.
Rawlings isn’t merely an exceptional distance runner, either. She’s also a striker for Real So Cal Soccer Club’s ECNL Girls U14 team, is an equestrian at Patrick Spanton Stables up the road in Malibu. Oh, and she also competes in track and field.
She hasn’t yet started high school but at the pace she’s setting, Rawlings could break a few more records for the Mustangs by the time she graduates.
