Palisadians Cameron Clark and Evan Scott are members of the Santa Monica Rugby Club, which won the five-game U18 Boys Southern California “Serevi 7-a-side” Series on Saturday in Fullerton to cap a run of five straight unbeaten tournaments that began June 29 in Santa Monica. With its 22-14 win over Poway from San Diego in Saturday’s final, the team becomes undisputed Southern California 7s champions.
Clark is a senior at Loyola High and Scott is a junior at Palisades High. For the season, the team went 24-1 overall, outscoring its opponents, 796-187.
“This is an exceptional team that showed great discipline and composure under pressure, especially in the Fullerton Titans final,” head coach Charlie Lydon said. “Our boys gave everything on the field in a fantastic performance and our courageous defense was the difference at the end of each half.”
