Calvary Christian School held its 21st annual Golf Tournament on Monday at MountainGate Country Club in Los Angeles and even the blazing sun couldn’t keep students, parents, faculty, alumni, family and friends from enjoying themselves on the links.
More than 80 people attended the tournament, which included a putting contest, hole-in-one competition, longest drive and foursomes.
While some parents were hoping to defend their winning titles from years past, the male first-place team this year was made up of former Cougars Oliver Allnat, Dalton Gerlach, Tim Gerlach and Dustin Rosenburg. The women’s champions consisted of Calvary Christian moms Stephanie Klotz, Jan Larson, Kathy Outcalt and Gina Sheldon.
The event was an opportunity for all involved to enhance friendships formed through the school. Parents often sponsor their kids’ teachers to the day on the course, while middle school students are invited to attend and participate. The day ended with an awards dinner and raffle, where this year one lucky teacher went home with a large flat-screen television from a raffle ticket purchased for her by a parent.
The tournament is one of the many ways the Calvary Christian community rallies together to make meaningful memories while raising support for the school.
