A brush fire has broken out in The Highlands near Temescal Ridge Trail in Topanga State Park, LAFD reported at 6:30 p.m. this evening.
The half-acre grass/brush fire is burning in a remote and inaccessible area, prompting both ground and air response. No structures are currently threatened and no evacuations have been ordered, LAFD’s Brian Humphrey confirmed at 7:30 p.m.
Update: As of 9:45 p.m., LAFD confirmed the Palmas Fire was 100 percent contained. The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
