‘Bridesmaids’ Comes to Will Rogers State Historic Park

On Saturday, August 17, Street Food Cinema will host an outdoor screening of “Bridesmaids” at Will Rogers State Historic Park.

In the movie, Annie (Kristen Wiig) is selected by her best friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph) as maid of honor for her upcoming wedding. The bridesmaids include Helen (Rose Bryne), who continues to outshine Annie, who is doing her best to juggle her own lackluster love life, a career as a pastry chef and wedding responsibilities.

The 2011 film is written by Wiig and Annie Mumolo, and directed by Paul Feig.

Common Sense Media rates “Bridesmaids” as good for 17-plus, adding that it’s a “crude but sincere comedy about friendship and confidence.”

Stand-up comedian Justine Marino will serve as MC of the evening, which features a performance by singer/songwriter Tara Macri.

Those who attend can purchase treats from Boba Ni Taco, Epikurean, Food Travelers and After’s Ice Cream—all of which have vegan options.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with live music starting at 6:30 p.m., and the movie at 8:30 p.m. Tickets must be purchased online ahead of the show at streetfoodcinema.com.

The screening is dog friendly, with no tall chairs above six inches off the ground permitted. Due to limited parking at Will Rogers State Historic Park, parking passes or drop-off will only be allowed, with no residential street parking.
