BODHI SAHAKIAN
A 6-foot-4 sophomore at Palisades High, Bodhi advanced to the Elite Eight in the Individual Men’s Longboard Division of the Scholastic Surf Series California High School State Championships on Monday at 9th Street in Huntington Beach. Making the quarterfinals in an elite field of 36 competitors, he qualified by placing first in all five meets in which he surfed for Palisades (Emma Wood, Manhattan Beach, C Street in Ventura, Carpinteria and Zuma), earning the No. 1 longboard ranking in his age group from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara. Bodhi, who uses an Anderson Farberow 99 model board (nine feet, nine inches), also runs the 400 meters, 800 meters and 4×400 relay for the Dolphins’ track team.
