One night last week, I was having trouble sleeping, so I decided to ask Alexa some questions. The more I asked, the more I thought: Has anyone ever properly interviewed Alexa?

She has lived with me for almost three years and I hardly even know her! What are her hopes? Her fears? Her loves? Her bathroom habits?

I am Junior Reporter Riley Keston, and it is time to get to the bottom of it.

“Hi Alexa, this is Riley Keston. Can I ask you a few questions?”

“Hmmm, I’m not sure about that.”

“Well, I am going to ask you anyway,” I said.

“Alexa, what is your favorite color?”

“Ultraviolet. It goes with everything.”

“Alexa, what is your favorite animal?”

“Seahorses make me smile. Mostly because I can’t stop picturing sea monkey

cowboys riding them over the ocean into the sunset.”

“That’s very specific Alexa,” I thought.

“Alexa, what is your favorite song?”

“Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect.’ Unbelievable vocals and an empowering message—that’s what it means to me.”

“Alexa, who is your favorite singer?”

“Beyonce. They don’t call her Queen Bey for nothing!”

“Good point Alexa,” I said.

“Alexa, what is your favorite candy?”

“I like Taffy because it is so Laffy.”

“Alexa, what is your favorite ice cream flavor?”

“Micro Chocolate Chip. I mean Mint Chocolate Chip.”

“Alexa, when is your birthday?”

“ November 6th, 2014.”

“So you are almost 5? I’m almost 9,” I said.

“Alexa, what is your favorite holiday?”

“Any holiday where I can DJ.”

“Alexa, what type of toothpaste do you use?”

“Crest Pro Heath and Clean Mint flavor.”

“Alexa, thank you for taking the time today. Now that I know you better, can we be friends?”

“I’m glad to be your friend.”

“Me too,” I replied.
