In her latest children’s book, Marquez Knolls author Teresa Power went for spooky, while also tying in her passion: yoga.
“Get excited for Halloween and learn some simple not-so-spooky yoga poses at the same time with Little Mouse and friends,” according to a press release about “Little Mouse Adventures Halloween Yoga.” “Your ghosts and goblins will stretch like witches, ghosts and black cats with this charming board book set to rhyme from bestselling author Teresa Power.”
The book, which was illustrated by Emma Allen, marks the fourth in the award-winning Little Mouse Adventures series.
“Teresa Power is an award-winning author and renowned yoga expert whose mission is to share strategies and tips to help children, parents and educators enrich their lives and manage stress,” the press release continued. “Teresa has been featured by ‘Good Morning America,’ Parenting, Reader’s Digest, Fox11 LA, Telemundo and more. She is also the author of the ‘ABCs of Yoga for Kids’ series and founder of Kids’ Yoga Day.”
Power, the bestselling author of “The ABCs of Yoga for Kids” and “Little Mouse Adventures,” has been practicing yoga for more than 30 years. She is an award-winning children’s yoga specialist with over 10 books—some of which have been translated into four languages.
Power previously shared with the Palisadian-Post that she discovered her love for yoga in law school when trying to find ways to relax and stay as stress free as possible. A friend recommended a class that taught a form of hot yoga.
“‘Halloween Yoga’ is a real treat for children, parents and yogis alike,” according to Founder of The Yoga Room Zelinda Yañez. “[This] sweet Halloween story combines engaging rhyming verse with technically accurate yoga poses to deftly introduce children to the concept of self-regulation in an age-appropriate and relatable way. Emma Allen’s gorgeous, detailed illustrations are captivating … This book will be a treasured addition to any child’s reading shelf.”
