As 15 teens take the stage to compete in the 56th annual Mr. and Miss Palisades contest tonight at Gilbert Hall at Palisades High School, special guests The Filharmonic will perform. The popular a capella group appeared on the hit TV show “The Sing-Off.” Tickets are $20 ($10 for students) and are available at the door.
Miss Palisades 2014 Sofie Fier will be saying farewell at the event. The Post caught up with Fier to talk about the highlights of her year as Miss Palisades.

Sierra Davis: What inspired you to participate in the teen contest, and how did you enjoy your year as Miss Palisades?
Sofie Fier: I have lived in the Palisades all of my life and I loved the thought of representing the youth of my town. The most rewarding part of the experience was seeing the little kids during the Holiday Ho-Ho-Ho event.
It was really nice to feel like a role model to these kids and to hear them say things like, ‘I want to be Miss Palisades when I’m older!’ Overall, it has been a wonderful experience.
Davis: Would you recommend participating in the teen contest to your peers?
Fier: I highly recommend participating to everyone. There is nothing to lose in auditioning, and the contest itself is low-stress and lots of fun.
If you feel like you may have too much on your plate, do it anyway. I do a lot of extracurricular activities and being Miss Palisades did not add much additional weight on my shoulders.
Davis: During the past year, you represented Pacific Palisades at a number of community events. Which was most enjoyable?
Fier: The highlight of my year as Miss Palisades was definitely riding in the Fourth of July parade. I felt like a princess in my own carriage with thousands of residents waving at me.
