Valentine’s Day is a great time to get crafty, especially for kids. It’s an inexpensive way to show someone a little love with a handmade gift. This project is straightforward and good for any age group, with adult supervision.
What you’ll need:
Colored pony beads | Silicone heart-shaped baking pan | Twine | A stick | Hot glue gun | Scissors
STEP 1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Fill the bottom of each heart shape with the pony beads. Be careful not to put too many or the hearts will come out uneven. Place in the oven for 25 minutes. While the beads melt there might be an odor from the melting plastic, so open your windows to air out the smell.
Let the melted hearts cool off to harden. Once they have hardened, peel the hearts out of the baking pan. There shouldn’t be any stick. If there is, then let the hearts cool off a bit longer.
STEP 2
Tie a piece of the twine to each end of the stick. This will be the wind chime’s hanger. Next, cut three even pieces of twine and tie each one to the stick.
STEP 3
Glue the hearts onto the pieces of twine. They don’t have to be even, but be careful not to glue them too far apart.
Give your newly made wind chime to your sweetheart or keep it for yourself. Place outside and listen to the wonderful sound in the wind!
