Opinions are widely divided when it comes to the annual football game between crosstown rivals USC and UCLA and here in the Palisades it’s no different this year. Palisades High football coach Tim Hyde predicts the Bruins will win 31-21 Saturday at the Rose Bowl.
“USC hasn’t proven it can play defense for four quarters,” he said. Also backing the Bruins are Pali High baseball coach Mike Voelkel (27-24), JV football coach Ray Marsden (42-27), Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Arnie Wishnick (28-24) and St. Matthew’s Athletic Director Andy Bernstein (42-35). Pacific Palisades Baseball Association Commissioner Bob Benton is picking the Trojans, 24-20.
