Arman Mahmoodi may be just shy of his 20th birthday, but he already has a deep understanding of local real estate. The youngest realtor associate with Rodeo Realty, Mahmoodi grew up in the Palisades and is well acquainted with the unique charm that entices prospective residents to buy property in the oceanside community. With a go-getter attitude and his newly acquired real estate license, Mahmoodi is well on his way to becoming a local real estate legend.
Jacqueline Primo: What was it like growing up in the Palisades?
Mahmoodi: I moved to the Palisades from Brentwood when I was about 5 years old. It really doesn’t get any better than growing up in the Palisades.
You have the beaches and city life minutes away, and you have plenty of great schools. It’s a safe town and as kids, we would bike to each other’s houses, hang out at the park or get something to eat in town.
Primo: How did your childhood help shape your success in life?
Mahmoodi: My relationship with my dad has a direct correlation with my success in life. I grew up watching him go to work before dawn and waiting for him to get back at dark almost every day of the week.
I would live for the days when he would take me to his office with him.
He’s the one who introduced me to real estate and when he noticed how fascinated I was by it, he encouraged me to start taking the required courses for my license in high school.
Primo: What were some of your activities or passions growing up? And now?
Mahmoodi: When I was growing up, soccer was my life. Another passion of mine has always been cars. Right now, my activities and passions really haven’t changed much despite adding real estate to the mix. I still enjoy soccer a lot so I continue to train kids during my free time, and I also play on an adult team.
Primo: What are you studying in college?
Mahmoodi: I am currently taking business courses at Santa Monica College, but when I transfer, I plan on majoring in Real Estate and minoring in Finance.
Primo: When did you know you wanted to be in real estate?
Mahmoodi: I knew I wanted to be in real estate right around the time I started high school.
Primo: Does your age give you an advantage?
Mahmoodi: Yes. I am young, vibrant and enthusiastic, and people seem to like that about me.
Primo: What’s your philosophy about selling real estate?
Mahmoodi: I am all about doing anything I possibly can to exceed my clients’ expectations. My clients and I work as a team to meet our mutual goals and objectives because in this fast-paced market, nothing is more crucial than consistent communication.
Primo: What’s a typical day like for you?
Mahmoodi: A typical workday for me consists of meetings, going on caravan to preview new properties, phone calls, emails, finding properties, showing properties, networking and working out!
Primo: What sets you apart from other real estate agents?
Mahmoodi: What sets me apart is that I am committed to always giving the highest level of service. My goal is to go “above and beyond” on behalf of my clients. I am very detail-orientated and transparent, and I try to make the process smooth and exciting.
Primo: What are the top reasons your clients give for wanting to purchase homes in the Palisades?
Mahmoodi: People choose to live in the Palisades for the beach lifestyle, the small town feel, the great schools, proximity to the city, the parks and recreation programs, the solid community resources and the fact that home ownership here is a solid investment with the promise of future value.
Primo: If you weren’t in real estate, what would you be doing?
Mahmoodi: If I weren’t in real estate I would probably be in the sports and entertainment industry.
Primo: What are some of the things you and your family enjoy doing in the Palisades?
Mahmoodi: My family and I like to go to the Farmer’s Market on Sundays, walk the dogs along the bluffs, watch my younger brother’s games at the park and visit friends.
