It figures to be an exciting summer for the Pacific Palisades Volleyball Club’s 14 Nike team, which qualified for the Junior National Championships in Columbus, Ohio in late June by finishing 10th at the Boys Invitational tournament last week in Anaheim.
Coached by Carlos Gray and Hunter Horn, the 8th-grade squad consists of four players from Corpus Christi School (libero Ben Hobin, opposites Xander Hurley and James Keefe and outside hitter Andrew Arth), three from St. Matthew’s (setter Trey White, opposite Daniel Leonard and middle blocker Peter Sykes), middle blocker Tenzin Arrastia-Prince and outside hitter Tommy Graves of Crossroads and setter Aaron Phan of Manhattan Beach Middle School.
