The 11th annual Palisades Beach Invitational girls basketball tournament began Monday and concludes with final round games Saturday at the Palisades High gym.
Bianca King scored 24 points and Samantha Spanier added 16 as Palisades won its first game 54-22 Tuesday against Palos Verdes. The Dolphins played the Mater Dei-Long Beach Millikan winner in the quarterfinals yesterday.
There are no games today but the tournament resumes with semifinal games tomorrow. The championship game tips off at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The field also includes defending champion Windward, Taft, Chaminade, Troy, JW North, Agoura, Marlborough, Keppel, Gardena Serra, Garces, West Torrance and Oaks Christian.
