After leading the Palisades High girls volleyball team to its 29th City Section title in November, setters Delaney Arth and Faylenn McDonough have been named Western League co-Most Valuable Players.
Joining Arth and McDonough on the All-League first team are opposite hitters Isabel Kelly and Tielar Richards and libero Olivia Zelon, the Dolphins’ dig leader.
Three more Dolphins were voted to the second team: outside hitter Sadie Gray and middle blockers Angel Echipue and Milena Gorum.
On Monday, Pali High sophomore libero Olivia Zelon committed to play volleyball at the University of Texas, which boasts one of the top recruiting classes in the country and is coached by Palisades native and Pali High alumnus Jerritt Elliott.
“He’s an amazing coach who I trust will train me well,” Zelon said of Elliott. “Their 2015 class had a huge impact on my decision, because they’re all unreal volleyball players but even better people. My main goal is to win a national championship and I think Texas can get me that.”
