Just another day at the oval office might be the best way to describe Marissa Williams’ performance Saturday night at Pasadena City College.
The Palisades High senior distance runner did what she’s grown accustomed to doing by breaking her own meet record and clocking a state-leading time of 4:50.77 in the 1,600 meters at the Pasadena Games.
“I wanted to break 4:50, but this is the fastest I’ve run this season by myself so I guess I can’t complain,” said Williams, who also owns the state’s top mark in the 3,200 this season (10:25.93), which she achieved at the Redondo Nike Invitational.

The Dolphins’ varsity distance medley of Hannah de Silva, Elizabeth Goodman, Maddie Frick and Greer King won in 13:55.39.
