The Palisades High varsity football team faces one of its most formidable challenges of the season Friday at 7 p.m. when it faces Santa Monica at SMC.
Santa Monica leads the rivalry 20-6-2 and have won the last 10 meetings by an average of 28 points, but the Vikings lost their season opener 12-6 at Los Altos.
“Samo runs its offense and defense the same — that’s the sign of a solid program,” Hyde said. “For us, it’s another opportunity to compete and get better.”
Dolphins receiver Dhaamir Lomax knows many of Samo’s players and looks forward to matching up against them.
“To win we have to keep pushing ourselves and not give even if they’re bigger,” he said. “The bigger they are, the harder they fall.”
